SanMar is a company that supports financial consolidation and reporting. The Accountant will manage general ledger accounts, contribute to the month-end close process, prepare financial reports, and assist with audits while ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist controller in preparation of monthly/quarterly consolidated financial statements
- Contribute to the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and accounting policies with the ability to communicate status and results
- Conduct fact checks, resolve discrepancies, gather and analyze information
- Prepare and audit financial reports
- Assist with year-end external audit
- Produce scheduled and ad hoc reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with all policies and standards
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting and internal controls
- Collaborative and team-oriented work style
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet data manipulation and creation
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Self-starter and ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, thoughtful decision-making, sound problem-solving, sufficient time and project management skills
- Prior experience in public accounting or working with a fast-paced environment is preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) within 1 Year preferred
- Experience in fast-paced, rapidly growing environment
