Description
Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our practice includes 175 radiologists, 30 advanced practice providers, and more than 175 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.
What we do: We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan’s largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health. American College of Radiology has designated Corewell a Diagnostic Center for Excellence.
What we are looking for: We are seeking additional part time help reading Body Imaging and Ultrasound studies. We will consider someone who is available to work at least an average of 32 hours/month. This position can be done from anywhere in the country and is ideal for someone who is looking for flexibility in their schedule or would like an additional source of income from other employment. (We are also looking for full-time Body Imaging/Ultrasound readers too!)
Responsibilities:
- Interpret body CT, general and specialized body MRI, CTA, and MRA studies utilizing our distributed radiology system (Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360)
- We provide 24/7 clinical IT support
- Shifts are flex shifts and can be worked in one or two hour increments as long as the hourly RVU goal is reached
- Minimum 4 shifts (or 32 hours) per month
Why is our practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice. We are committed to remaining independent. If desired, we welcome participation in section, committee and board meetings as well as academic pursuits. We are affiliated with Michigan State University College of Medicine, and Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled.
Why do you want to do telerad for us? Although we are based in Michigan, we have a well-established teleradiology practice. We had remote physicians prior to COVID and currently have physicians working in 14 states. We utilize Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360 and Clario; we have outstanding IT infrastructure and 24/7 help desk support. Our remote radiologists are encouraged to participate in virtual section, committee and board meetings and their input is essential to our practice decisions. You will have outstanding colleagues working virtually by your side with a very strong Body section.
Compensation/Benefits: We have two options for this- an Associate Physician with Benefits or an Associate Physician – Non-Benefit Eligible. If you do not need benefits the pay is currently $2300 per weekday shift or $3220 for timed weekend shifts. If you elect this option, you will not be able to exceed 250 hours per quarter.
Our Associate Physicians with benefits earn $1800 per shift but also have a comprehensive benefit plan. This includes single or family medical/dental/vision with some premium contribution and a $9000 medical reimbursement account if you work an average of 2 shifts per week (800 hours/year). We also contribute half the IRS maximum 401K contribution ($35,000 in 2025) after one year of employment if you work 256 hours (thirty two (32) 8 hour shifts) per quarter. We also provide reimbursement for your state medical license, $750 per year toward professional association dues as well as your ACR and MSMS payments.
We provide malpractice insurance and a home work station at no cost for either option above (benefit eligible or non benefit eligible).
Requirements
- American Board of Radiology or AOBR certified
- Completion of a cross sectional body imaging fellowship or an ultrasound fellowship
