Basler AG is a leading manufacturer of high-quality digital cameras and computer vision solutions. The Applications Engineer will design and deploy advanced camera-based vision systems, providing pre-sales consultancy and post-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales Team throughout sales cycle to design best fitting recommendations to customers developing machine vision applications
- This includes presales consultation on machine vision best practices – taking into consideration the entire application from lighting, optics, and camera hardware to the PC, software and image processing
- Based on this information provide best fitting recommendations
- Consult with customers throughout opportunity design in cycles – function as technical point of contact streamlining the machine vision integration and Basler product adoption
- Manage post-sales support of existing customers utilizing Salesforce, email, phone, MS Teams and other management software
- Design in-lab testing of customer applications to determine feasibility, providing images and detailed explanation on how to replicate results
- Utilizing the Pylon API trouble shoot customer code and write code samples enabling customers to better integrate Basler products
- Common cross functional responsibilities include – Tradeshow demo creation, supporting RMA process, hosting webinars, building customer presentations, and conducting internal or customer facing technical trainings
- Travel to customers in US and Canadia for pre & post sales customer visits in addition to tradeshow coverage for technical expertise
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or other STEM Major with 0.5-2 years of relevant experience
- Machine vision industry knowledge is a plus
- C++, C, C# programming skills with Visual Studio debugging techniques (Python is a plus)
- Understanding of electronics concepts and familiarity with circuit analysis and components
- Experience working with customers
- Experience training or consulting
- Experience with 2D, Line Scan, or 3D cameras is highly desired
- Exceptional organizational and communication abilities, with a proven capacity to independently manage multiple priorities, swiftly address customer needs, and provide outstanding support from start to finish
- Willingness to learn and stay up to date on emerging industry standards
- Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems (Linux and MacOS is a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Good team work ethic, with strong communication skills
