Automation Engineer – Privileged Access Controls

Role Summary
The Automation Engineer ensures that privilege reduction controls work as designed, do not break applications, and are consistently enforced across thousands of servers. This role is critical for preventing operational outages while security controls are enforced.
Key Responsibilities
• Design automated test frameworks for:
o Privileged access workflows
o JIT elevation
o Package installation controls
• Validate Linux sudo and Windows JEA restrictions
• Build regression test suites for:
o App startup
o Patch workflows
o Emergency access
• Support canary and wave deployments with validation checks
• Detect privilege regression and drift
• Partner with DevOps and SMEs to fix failures early
Required Experience
• 5+ years in automation engineering
• Experience testing infrastructure and security controls
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• CI/CD testing integration experience
Desired Skills
• Infrastructure-as-code testing
• Chaos engineering or failure testing
• Experience validating security hardening at scale
