Business Development Manager, Department of War (DoW) & Federal Government Widelity is seeking a Business Development Manager to be responsible for driving strategic growth in the federal government market with specific focus on the DoW, IC and DHS. This role leads the identification, qualification, capture, and pursuit of new business opportunities while working closely with executive leadership and technical teams. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, relationship-driven, and comfortable operating in a lean environment where collaboration and hands-on execution are essential. The Business Development Manager will have an active security clearance. This is a full-time position, and candidates must live in the DC/Northern Virginia area or the Research Triangle Park (RTP) / Fort Bragg, NC area. Business Development Manager Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the DoW and federal government marketplace. • Develop and manage a qualified pipeline aligned with company capabilities and growth objectives. • Lead capture efforts including opportunity shaping, customer engagement, teaming strategy development, and win strategy execution. • Build and maintain relationships with government decision-makers, contracting officers, program managers, and industry partners. • Collaborate directly with company leadership to define growth priorities and strategic positioning. • Support lead proposal development efforts, including solution shaping, writing support, compliance review, and coordination of internal contributors. • Conduct market research and competitive intelligence using government procurement tools (e.g., SAM.gov, GovWin, FPDS). • Identify and negotiate teaming agreements and strategic partnerships. • Track and report on pipeline status, revenue projections, and key business development metrics. • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and government briefings. • Ensure adherence to applicable federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS) and company policies. • Perform other job-related duties consistent with the role as assigned. Business Development Manager Required Skills: • Unwavering commitment to asset protection and cybersecurity. • Strong working knowledge of federal procurement processes and Department of War acquisition practices. • Demonstrated success supporting or leading captures in the federal government market. • Experience with contract vehicles such as IDIQs, OTA's, GWACs, or GSA Schedules. • Ability to develop and execute capture strategies in a resource-constrained environment. • Strong proposal support skills, including writing, editing, and compliance coordination. • Proficiency with CRM systems and government opportunity tracking platforms. • Ability to analyze market data and align opportunities with company strengths. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Business Development Manager Position Requirements: • Active Secret Security Clearance. • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of proven, demonstrated business development experience within federal government contracting, preferably supporting DoW clients. • Proven track record of contributing to or leading successful contract awards.
