**The Role**
As a Customer Care Specialist on our Energy Efficiency Program, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to residential customers in Illinois. You'll take incoming phone calls, help customers understand and implement energy-saving strategies, and work with them to identify and overcome barriers to energy efficiency. You'll also be responsible for reviewing energy audit reports, assisting customers with estimates and contractor selection, and tracking customer activity in our Customer Management System.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Take incoming phone calls from residential customers in Illinois, providing exceptional customer service and support
* Help customers understand and implement energy-saving strategies, including behavioral changes, programmable thermostat training, and DIY upgrades
* Review energy audit reports with customers, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations
* Assist customers with estimates and contractor selection, ensuring that they have the information they need to make informed decisions
* Track customer activity in our Customer Management System, ensuring that all necessary fields are completed and reporting requirements are met
* Collaborate with other departments, including residential energy audits, trade ally management, rebate processing, and quality assurance
* Address customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner, following defined procedures and documenting all interactions
* Plan, coordinate, and follow through on tasks and assignments in a timely manner, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines
**Requirements**
* High School Diploma or equivalent, with 1+ year of customer service experience or equivalent
* Ability to travel to Peoria, IL up to 10% of the time, with occasional remote work required
* Demonstrated fluency in English language, both written and oral
* Experience with or strong knowledge of building science principles
* Expertise with or ability to learn web-based software, including Microsoft Office
* Strong listening, oral and written communication skills
* Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers in a friendly, positive, respectful manner
* Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, even under pressure
* Effectively utilizes available resources to achieve goals
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in all work products
* Self-motivated and driven to deliver on goals
* Ability to prioritize, multi-task and deliver in a fast-paced environment

**Preferred Qualifications**
* Call Center Representative with experience in resolving customer issues, complaints, and inquiries, with a focus on customer satisfaction
* Industry experience in energy efficiency or a related field
