About the Internship
We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our Quality Control Standards and Guidelines Team as a Summer 2024 Intern. This 12-week internship, running from May 21 to August 9, 2024, will be based at our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX. As an intern, you'll have the chance to work on real-world projects, contribute to our mission, and gain invaluable experience in data analysis and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team in timely data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data elements.
- Help create and communicate insights from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical Customers and Leaders.
- Support ad-hoc inquiries resulting from emerging maintenance issues and provide analytical responses to enable Senior Leadership to make business decisions.
- Present findings, trends, and potential recommendations using data visualization tools to facilitate stakeholder understanding.
- Assist in developing and distributing specific queries to pull and integrate data from various sources, establishing the cadence, and validating the need for data requirements.
- Identify process anomalies through audits/reviews and communicate findings to the Team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and procedures by monitoring for trends and anomalies.
- Ensure a compliance mindset is at the center of every decision.
- May perform other work duties as directed by Team Leader.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this internship, you must:
- Be pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
- Possess the ability to gather, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have effective listening, comprehension, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be able to assess business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Be able to work effectively in a strong team-oriented environment.
- Be able to prioritize responsibilities effectively and be an independent self-starter.
- Be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
To stand out as a candidate, you should:
- Have knowledge of data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase.
- Be proficient in using PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications.
- Have past internship, capstone projects, or research coursework experience.
- Have previous internship experience in a related field.
- Be able to plan and support large business initiatives.
