Elementary School Teacher Position Description

As an Elementary School Teacher at USN, you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to the academic and social-emotional growth of our students. Your role will involve:

• Developing and internalizing rigorous, aligned curriculum with content and grade-level teams.
• Establishing and maintaining a joyful classroom and grade-level culture that promotes student engagement and achievement.
• Communicating student progress consistently with families to build authentic partnerships between school and home.
• Using data intelligently to drive improvement efforts and inform instruction.
• Implementing frequent feedback from colleagues and school leaders to grow as an educator.
• Designing systems that support the diverse needs of all learners.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Hold a B.A./B.S. degree and be able to secure the appropriate teaching license.
• Be committed to using data-driven instructional practices and techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0.
• Be relentless in writing, refining, and internalizing curriculum, lessons, and assessments.
• Be open to and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Be comfortable with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities.

Prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities is preferred, as it aligns with our mission and the context in which we work.

Terms of Employment

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., although some job-related tasks may be expected outside these hours. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for a new teacher with a Bachelor's degree is $49,000. Salaries for other applicants will be determined based on professional experience and education level. In addition to a competitive salary, USN offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

• Eligibility to participate in the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) or the School Employees Retirement System of Ohio (SERS).
