**Responsibilities:**
As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:
* Providing exceptional customer service to patients, referral sources, and employees through phone, email, and other communication channels
* Processing new orders, responding to customer inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including clinical, billing, and care-related information
* Conducting insurance verification and eligibility for services/products
* Collecting co-pays and deductible amounts
* Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
* Maintaining accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
* Managing all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, and inputting data into our proprietary system
* Obtaining authorization and qualification documentation
* Preparing complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
* Processing work orders to field locations and coordinating timely fulfillment of products and services ordered
* Providing product/service information and education to customers
* Performing thorough reviews and Quality Assurance for medical necessity and documentation requirements of payors and regulatory bodies
* Working extensively with our proprietary system, eIntake
* Performing other duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A high school diploma or GED equivalent
* One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
* Experience in the medical field and administrative record management
* Strong customer service background
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written
* Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
* Medical terminology knowledge
* Multi-tasking and attention to detail skills
* Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
* Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Compensation:**
The starting salary for this position is $16.25 per hour, with opportunities for quarterly bonuses.
