Job Overview

As a Portfolio Architect, you will be responsible for owning technical decisions and directions for our Crew IT portfolio, designing applications and platforms that automate business processes, and ensuring the successful construction, implementation, and system integration of cloud and non-cloud solutions. You will be the technical leader for our Crew IT portfolio, overseeing each phase of software application development, defining business and technical operating procedures, and identifying application and business requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the adoption of new technologies, mentoring staff software engineers, and ensuring the highest level of quality and security in our systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own technical decisions and direction for the Crew IT portfolio, designing applications and platforms that automate business processes and meet business needs as an integrated solution.
• Play an active role in the overall technical architecture, owning technical responsibility for the success of cloud and non-cloud solutions.
• Oversee each phase of software application development to ensure a high level of quality for each assigned project.
• Develop and define business and technical operating procedures and standards.
• Identify application and business requirements by communicating with technical teams and clients.
• Keep abreast of, recommend, and drive new technologies towards implementation and exploitation.
• Architect specializations will include App/Integration, DevSecOps, Site Reliability, Platform, Security.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in a Software Architecture or senior Software Engineering capacity at an enterprise scale.
• Experience with the architecture and design of enterprise software solutions, applications, integrations, security, and platform engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency in Cloud-native development using Spring/SpringBoot, Angular, ROSA, AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service, Lambda, EC2, Gitlab, Tekton, RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Oracle 19c+ database.
• Experience with VersionOne, GIT, CICD, TDD, and DevOps.
• Experience with agile development and frequent releases.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff software engineers with best practices and leadership.
• Highly proficient with leading Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, practices, and tools in an enterprise technology environment.
• Expertise in Application Security principles and 12-factor application development principles.

• Microservice development on a cloud platform using 12-factor architectural patterns.
• Experience building flexible and robust APIs.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced technology environment, interacting with product owners, business analysts, software engineers/developers, and automation engineers.
• A system engineering, logic, or developer background with the ability to learn quickly and share knowledge with the broader team.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code Configuration management tools, CI/CD tools (Tekton, GitLab CI, AWS CDK, and CFT Scripting, etc.).
• Experience with monitoring tools in a Production environment for troubleshooting.
