Job Overview
The Senior Big Data Software Engineer will be responsible for leading moderately complex drives and expectations within specialized area conditions. You will contribute to large-scale planning of strategies, design, code, test, troubleshoot, and report on projects and initiatives related to the technology space. Your expertise will be essential in resolving moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth assessment of technologies and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead moderately complex drives and expectations within specialized area conditions
- Contribute to large-scale planning of strategies
- Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and report on projects and initiatives related to the technology space
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth assessment of technologies and methodologies
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients' needs while utilizing a strong understanding of the capability, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and communicate with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve objectives
- Lead tasks and act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- 3+ years of programming experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop
- 3+ years of experience with Teradata
- 3+ years of experience with MongoDB
- 3+ years of experience with AWS
- 3+ years of experience with GitHub and Bitbucket
- 3+ years of experience designing, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting for projects and initiatives
- 3+ years of experience in Python and Unix/Shell scripting, Scala, Spark, HBase, Oozie, Flume, and Kafka
- 3+ years of experience in Ansible
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels of technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and have a proactive approach
- Experience in designing ETL data streams using making mappings/workflows to extract data from SQL Server and Data Migration and Transformation from Oracle/Access/Excel Sheets using SQL Server SSIS
- Related experience working as a Programmer at arenaflex
