Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Title 1 Para, Special Programs professional to join our team. As a key member of our Specialized Programs team, you will provide individualized instruction, academic support, and functional life skills to students in a Title I designated school. Your expertise and dedication will help students overcome challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Title 1 Para, Special Programs professional, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualized instruction and academic support to students in Specialized Programs
- Assisting students with daily routines, including getting to and from class and bus stops, using toilets, diapering, feeding, medical needs, and personal hygiene
- Implementing specialized therapy programs and working directly with therapists on physical progress and Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
- Supporting behavior plan implementation and utilizing CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) techniques and safety monitoring
- Sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning the learning environment and general work area of all bodily fluids
- Facilitating and encouraging speech and language development through the use of alternate communication systems, such as sign language or voice-activated computer systems
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 18 years old
- AA or (2) year college degree, or Completion of 48 college semester hours, or Passing of state CDE-approved paraprofessional examination, or Complete Personal Commitment Plan to meet requirements within a defined timeline
- Willingness to work with students receiving special education services (training opportunities provided)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Universal Precautions training
- CPI/Safety Care training certification
