Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Virtual Assistant with experience in federal contracting, SAM.gov opportunity research, and proposal support.
This is NOT a basic admin role. We are looking for someone who understands how to identify qualified, winnable opportunities and assist in building strong proposals and capability statements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Opportunity Research (SAM.gov & Beyond)
Monitor SAM.gov daily for new contract opportunities
Filter opportunities based on:
NAICS codes (e.g., 238320, construction-related)
Set-asides (EDWOSB, SDVOSB, Small Business)
Location and eligibility requirements
Deliver a curated list of qualified opportunities daily/weekly
2. Bid/No-Bid Analysis
Evaluate opportunities and recommend whether to pursue
Identify:
Competition level
Scope alignment
Risk factors
Provide short summaries and recommendations
3. Capability Statement Development
Create and update professional capability statements
Tailor capability statements to specific opportunities
Highlight differentiators, certifications, and past performance
4. Proposal Support
Assist in drafting proposal sections (technical approach, past performance, etc.)
Organize documents and ensure compliance with RFP requirements
Help track deadlines, submissions, and amendments
5. Market & Competitor Research
Identify companies winning similar contracts
Research potential teaming partners (SDVOSB, WOSB, GCs)
Support outreach preparation
Required Skills & Experience
Experience with SAM.gov (Contract Opportunities)
Understanding of federal contracting terminology
Experience writing or supporting government proposals
Strong writing and communication skills
Ability to analyze RFPs and summarize key requirements
Familiarity with NAICS codes and set-asides (WOSB, SDVOSB, etc.)
Preferred (Highly Valued)
Experience in construction or facilities-related contracts
Experience creating winning capability statements
Knowledge of FAR / federal procurement basics
Experience with GovWin, USASpending, or similar tools
