We are building a story-driven, cinematic Adventure RPG released in episodic format, blending narrative depth with painterly visuals. The project features unique gameplay mechanics, a spiral narrative structure, and stylized realistic characters.
About the Role
We are looking for a Game Director who will become the key specialist responsible for creating all core gameplay mechanics, systems, and prototypes.
This is a hands-on role: we need someone who can not only design systems, but also build them, test them, iterate, troubleshoot, and bring them to a fully functioning state.
What You Will Do
- Design gameplay mechanics, describe systems, and shape the structure of the overall player experience.
- Work closely with the Event Prediction System and help integrate it into the core gameplay loop.
- Build interactive sequences, logical chains, and gameplay interactions for an adventure-RPG experience.
- Contribute to the creation of point-and-click navigation, interactive scenes, skill-based systems, and RPG-style attributes.
- Regularly test gameplay on your own, identify weak points, and suggest improvements.
- Initially work fully hands-on; after Greenlight, help build and mentor a small game design team.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Technical Game Design and Gameplay Design.
- Confident work with Unreal Engine 5, especially Blueprints.
- Ability to independently assemble and test prototypes.
- Experience with adventure / narrative / RPG projects or genuine passion for the genre.
- Understanding of interactive storytelling structures and nonlinear experience design.
- Ability to work autonomously, make decisions quickly, and deliver results.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Understanding of turn-based combat systems, dialogue systems, or RPG mechanics.
- Experience with systems design, gameplay flow creation, and scene logic planning.
- Basic understanding of working with animations in UE5.
What We Offer
- A chance to become a key contributor to a unique project built in an unconventional format.
- Direct influence on core mechanics, structure, and gameplay flow.
- Work in a small, passionate, highly autonomous team.
- A project with secured funding for the demo phase and strong ambitions for full production.
- Creative freedom and ownership over your part of the game.
- Fully remote work.
