Sedgman is a leading provider of mineral processing solutions and is currently seeking a Graduate Process Engineer for their Vancouver, B.C. office. The role involves providing process engineering support, performing calculations, and collaborating with the design and engineering team to deliver high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide process design support through the engineering phases PEA, PFS, FS, conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design
- Perform studies into operational site improvements and modifications
- Develop, improve and promote the effective use of operations systems (i.e. JDE, SPRS, Synergy, Aconex, SMS, Dochub)
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues
- Develop process flow sheets and prepare process design criteria
- Prepare process calculations, PFDs, heat & material balances and P&IDs
- Size process equipment and develop specifications
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in mining processing technology and recommend implementation of new equipment or processes
- Additional duties as required
Skills
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines)
- 0 – 3 years of work experience; process design experience preferred
- Must be eligible to register with the EGBC or will have their P.Eng EGBC designation
- Knowledge of process engineering, equipment, and technologies
- Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Must be able to travel to Mine sites, which may include some secondments
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
- Process design experience preferred
