We’re looking for a Head of Paid Media to lead and grow one of our core service lines. This role owns performance across the department while building strong leaders, improving operations, and ensuring teams are set up to do their best work. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic, high-impact results for clients. Description The Head of Paid Media is a department-level leader responsible for setting the strategic direction, scalability, and long-term success of our Paid Media service line. This role owns performance across the department, builds and develops a strong leadership bench, and ensures alignment across teams to deliver consistent, high-quality work. You’ll play a key role in evolving our Paid Media offering, strengthening operations, and driving innovation, while creating an environment where teams can do their best work. Please note this is a fully remote (U.S. only) position. Key Responsibilities: Service Leadership & Strategy - Own and evolve the Paid Media service roadmap based on client needs, market trends, and agency priorities - Maintain deep subject matter expertise and guide best practices across the team - Identify new opportunities to improve performance, approach, and service offerings - Ensure consistent execution standards across strategy, planning, and delivery Delivery Operations & Performance - Oversee department performance, utilization, staffing, and margin health - Ensure work is tracked accurately to inform hiring and resourcing decisions - Improve delivery efficiency without compromising quality or results - Strengthen scoping, planning, and forecasting for predictable delivery Team Leadership & People Management - Build, develop, and coach a strong leadership layer (managers and senior team members) - Set clear expectations and drive accountability, feedback, and growth - Partner with leadership and HR on hiring, retention, and team planning - Support contractor strategy to balance cost efficiency and quality - Foster a structured, accountable, and high-performing team environment Client Strategy & Performance - Ensure Paid Media contributes to a strategic, relationship-driven client experience - Use KPIs to monitor account health, satisfaction, and performance - Translate performance data into clear insights and business direction - Identify risks early and drive proactive solutions - Support client growth through upsell and cross-sell opportunities Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner closely with Account Management and other departments - Ensure Paid Media is integrated into a unified, omnichannel client strategy - Reinforce strong project management and workflow coordination Operational Excellence & Innovation - Build and maintain scalable systems, SOPs, and frameworks - Drive continuous improvement across tools, processes, and delivery - Contribute to sales efforts, proposals, and agency positioning - Help elevate the agency’s voice through insights and thought leadership - Model and reinforce company values through leadership and communication What Success Looks Like: - Strong department performance, including healthy margins and operational stability - Clear visibility into utilization and resource planning, with proactive staffing decisions - A developed leadership bench with managers ready to step up and grow - Consistent adoption of systems, processes, and delivery standards across the team - Ongoing innovation and evolution of the Paid Media service offering - High client satisfaction, retention, and long-term account growth - A team culture grounded in accountability, clarity, curiosity, and strong leadership Qualifications: - 12+ years of experience in Paid Media, including programmatic - 5+ years leading a team or service line in an agency or client-services environment - Strong ecommerce experience  - Strong omni-channel ecosystem experience  - Proven ability to scale a team or function in a sustainable and profitable way - Strong track record of developing managers and senior leaders - Experience driving cross-functional alignment and operational improvements - Ability to bring structure, clarity, and stability to a growing function - Comfortable operating in evolving environments and leading through change - Low ego, high accountability, and strong decision-making in complex situations Why You’ll Love It Here: - You’ll have real ownership over a core service line and the opportunity to shape its future - You’ll work alongside a collaborative leadership team that values strategic thinking and accountability - We prioritize building strong teams, not just strong results - You’ll have the ability to influence systems, processes, and long-term direction - A culture grounded in being genuine, team-oriented, and committed to excellence Benefits & Perks Include: - Competitive salary + growth opportunities - Medical, dental, and vision coverage (with company contribution) - 401(k) with company match - Generous PTO + floating holidays + your birthday off - Paid volunteer day - Monthly internet stipend - Ongoing learning and development opportunities Interested?
