High School Computer Science Tutor (Online)

We provide personalized instruction with experienced tutors, flexible scheduling, and curriculum-aligned support. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and engaging High School Computer Science Tutor to support students in grades 9–12. The tutor will deliver one-on-one online sessions, helping students understand core computer science concepts, complete assignments, and prepare for exams. Key Responsibilities • Teach high school computer science topics such as: • Programming fundamentals (Python, Java, or similar languages) • Algorithms and problem solving • Data structures basics • AP Computer Science A / Principles support (if applicable) • Debugging, logic building, and project guidance • Customize lesson plans based on student needs and learning pace • Help students with homework, projects, and exam preparation • Track student progress and share feedback with parents/administration • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and interactive learning environment Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred) • Prior teaching or tutoring experience with high school students • Strong programming knowledge (Python/Java preferred) • Familiarity with high school curriculum or AP Computer Science is a plus • Excellent communication skills and patience with students • Reliable internet connection and ability to teach online Preferred Skills • Experience teaching AP Computer Science A or AP CSP • Ability to teach beginner to intermediate coding levels • Experience with online whiteboards, coding platforms, or LMS tools • Passion for mentoring and motivating students environments • Working knowledge of specialized subjects such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, microeconomics, or physiology is a plus • Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents while demonstrating patience and enthusiasm for education • Strong computer skills including familiarity with educational software and digital collaboration tools • Experience in working with students who have special education needs or require additional support in early childhood or preschool settings is advantageous Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
