We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer / Learning Consultant to enhance an existing online learning experience focused on reducing implicit bias among pharmacists. This project is part of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant initiative and requires a consultant who can thoughtfully elevate engagement while respecting the time constraints of busy healthcare professionals.
All core content has been developed. The consultant will focus on improving instructional effectiveness, increasing learner engagement, and integrating meaningful knowledge checks and reflective activities.
Project Scope
The consultant will review and enhance:
• One 30–40 minute online lecture
• Increase engagement and interactivity
• Incorporate knowledge checks and reflective elements
• Ensure the experience remains concise and impactful
• One 15-minute simulation
• Increase learner activity and applied practice
• Strengthen instructional flow and engagement
Following review by pharmacy and implicit bias stakeholders, minor content edits may be required.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate existing eLearning and simulation content
• Recommend and implement strategies to increase engagement and instructional effectiveness
• Integrate knowledge checks and structured reflection opportunities
• Ensure alignment with adult learning principles and best practices in bias mitigation education
• Conduct light research as needed to support enhancements
• Deliver a clear estimate and structured plan for proposed improvements
• Work independently while maintaining professional communication with stakeholders
Required Experience
• Strong background in instructional design and adult learning theory
• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or higher education environments
• Demonstrated experience designing learning solutions related to unconscious/implicit bias
• Experience enhancing eLearning and simulation-based learning
• Ability to balance engagement with time efficiency for professional audiences
Tools & Environment
• Consultant must provide their own laptop and software licenses
• Authoring tools: TBDAI tool usage and related policies: TBD

The pay range for this is $60.00 to $65.00 per hour on a W2 basis. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
