As we scale, we are seeking a Tanzania-based Legal Advisor who can confidently guide our legal infrastructure with a solid foundation in corporate, fintech, and platform regulation. Key Responsibilities - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, affiliation agreements, payout terms, and third-party partnerships - Provide strategic counsel on business registration, licensing, and compliance (BRELA, TRA, TIN, TIC) - Ensure compliance with Tanzanian regulations relating to digital platforms, forex, payment systems, and consumer protection - Advise on employment law matters, including drafting local contracts, NDAs, and internship policies - Assist in structuring CK Funded regional operations legally across Africa and the GCC - Represent CK Funded legal interests in potential disputes or escalated contractual issues - Monitor legal risks and deliver preemptive solutions to support the company's growth - Collaborate with external legal consultants, PSPs, and financial regulators where necessary - Provide legal support for fundraising, IP protection, and terms of service/policy drafting Qualifications - LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from a Top recognized Tanzanian university  - Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania - Admitted Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and Subordinate Courts - Fluent in English and Kiswahili (spoken and written legal communication) - Must possess up-to-date practicing license in good standing - Strong knowledge of Tanzanian corporate, employment, and contract law - Understanding of Tanzanias tech and consumer protection laws, including Electronic Transactions Act, Cybercrime Act, and Banking and Financial Institutions Act - Knowledge of Bank of Tanzanias fintech & forex regulations, and a bank certificate  is a must  Experience - 4+ years of professional experience in corporate, commercial, or financial law - Proven track record working with or advising tech startups, fintechs, forex/prop firms, or payment processors - Experience supporting cross-border digital platforms or financial services companies - Background in contract drafting, dispute resolution, and regulatory submissions - Experience negotiating with banks, PSPs, legal authorities, or business partners in East Africa - Demonstrated ability to provide clear, concise legal advice to founders and C-level executives Bonus Skills - Experience advising fintech or forex platforms - Familiarity with AML/CFT compliance, data privacy laws, and international trade law - Legal support in fundraising, shareholding agreements, or IP matters - Multinational exposure or experience in GCC regulatory frameworks What We Offer - Flexible working hours and remote-friendly structure - Option to work full-time or on a part-time/retainer basis - Access to high-level fintech operations and international scaling strategy - Opportunity to shape the legal foundation of one of East Africas fastest-growing fintech startups - A respected position in a performance-driven, innovation-focused team - Long-term growth and advisory opportunities as CK Funded expands into new regions If you are a qualified legal expert who understands the intricacies of Tanzanian law, fintech, and trading platforms we want to work with you.
