Overview
A busy and thriving New York litigation firm seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing legal operations and performing comprehensive paralegal duties, with a strong emphasis on case management and supervising support staff in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to ensuring smooth office operations and efficient case processing from Note of Issue through trial.
Key Responsibilities
• Case Management & Processing: Oversee and manage case processing, including legal service and calendaring, to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Document Management: Maintain and organize case files using document management systems; manage digital and physical filing of all legal documents.
• Legal Drafting & Subpoenas: Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including subpoenas and discovery-related materials.
• Supervision & Delegation: Supervise support staff, delegate litigation-related tasks, and follow up to ensure compliance with discovery demands and court orders.
• Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for the department, communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and the Courts.
• Administrative & Office Operations: Oversee general office administration, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and maintenance of client records.
Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant New York litigation experience; supervisory experience required.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management/document management systems (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw, iManage).
• Strong working knowledge of New York Civil Practice Law and Rules (CPLR).
