Paralegal/Legal Assistant - Washington, DC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ months
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of legal documents.
• Summarize depositions and other transcripts.
• Maintain case files and perform simple legal research.
• Index, track, and control document discovery.
• Prepare exhibit cross-references and assist attorneys in the courtroom.
• Review documents for relevance and privilege.
• Compile documents for FOIA, production requests, and Congressional inquiries.
Required Skills:
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful.
• Automated litigation support experience valued.
• Basic legal knowledge and experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and imaging.
• Basic familiarity with Client tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure.
Education:
• Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed.
