Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000

Currently in 9 cities across the country, we are positioning ourselves for future growth and have an exciting opportunity for a strategic business leader to join the National team as a People Operations Specialist.
Reporting to the Senior People Operations Manager, the People Operations Specialist will provide day-to-day operational support across core People Operations (HR) functions. This position is essential to supporting our people throughout their employee lifecycle by delivering accurate and consistent customer service and maintaining efficient and consistent systems and processes.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and solutions-oriented team player who thrives on making things run smoothly behind the scenes. With strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through, this individual helps ensure employees have a positive and seamless experience at every stage of their journey at Genesys Works.
Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle & Operational Support
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding workflows tracking progress across internal systems.
- Maintain employee records and documentation to reflect staffing changes and organizational updates.
- Support leave administration by tracking cases, managing documentation, and coordinating with payroll on related pay and short-term disability.
- Be the first point of contact for HR inquiries by managing the HR inbox and case management system.
- Respond to and execute HR inquiries and requests, including job change requests, policy guidance, and employment verification.
- Coordinating communications around staffing changes (e.g., hires, exits, role transitions) to internal stakeholders to support transparency and alignment.
Payroll Processing Support
- Collaborate with the Payroll team to process payroll-impacting changes in line with Standard Work Instructions.
- Partner with Payroll to resolve discrepancies, address urgent changes, and ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Ensure proper and accurate employee communication of pay-impact in changes.
- Support audits by reconciling changes, pulling reports, and maintaining payroll records for compliance.
HR Systems & Compliance Administration
- Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS and employee records, conducting regular audits to ensure system integrity and compliance with internal standards.
- Maintain People Operations systems including ATS (Clear Company), HRIS (GoCo), benefit carriers, and state portals.
- Assist in preparing documentation for compliance audits and support the tracking of workplace incidents and workers compensation claims.
- Support benefits administration by processing enrollments, life event changes, and troubleshooting carrier issues in partnership with the Senior People Operations Manager.
- Manage learning management system (LMS) tasks, including assigning required trainings, updating content, and responding to employee inquiries.
People Programs & Experience Support
- Support performance review cycles by tracking timelines, sending reminders, updating evaluation records in HR systems, and maintaining process documentation.
- Administer employee recognition platforms (e.g., HeyTaco, Snappy), including managing reward distribution, monitoring platform usage, and troubleshooting user issues.
- Draft and distribute internal HR communications, including newsletters, event announcements, and campaign-style messages that support engagement and culture initiatives.
- Collaborate across the People & Culture team to support cultural initiatives and employee engagement.
- Support the volunteer engagement program through the development, organization, and management of program resources
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HR administration, employee services, or people operations.
- Customer (employee) centric written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational, process improve and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining HR systems such as GoCo (HRIS), Salesforce (CRM), or similar tools.
- Experience supporting payroll or benefits processes in collaboration with Finance and third-party vendors, as well as familiarity with leave administration, HR auditing, or compliance tracking.
- Experience processing payroll changes in compliance with wage and hour laws, preferably in a multi-state environment, and familiarity with payroll systems.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
