Our client, a prominent player in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer to join their operations team in Colorado Springs, Colorado, US . This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of reservoir engineering, drilling operations, and production optimization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maximizing hydrocarbon recovery, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and contributing to the company's exploration and development strategies. This position is site-based, demanding a strong commitment to on-field operations and collaboration. Responsibilities: Analyze reservoir characteristics and properties to estimate hydrocarbon reserves and potential. Develop and implement well drilling and completion plans. Design and oversee production strategies to maximize recovery rates and optimize operational efficiency. Monitor well performance and production data, making recommendations for adjustments. Conduct economic evaluations of drilling and production projects, assessing profitability and risks. Apply advanced reservoir simulation techniques to model fluid flow and predict performance. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and other engineering disciplines. Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance exploration, drilling, and production processes. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues encountered in the field. Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related engineering field. 5+ years of progressive experience in petroleum engineering, with a focus on reservoir, drilling, or production engineering. Proven experience in reservoir characterization, well design, and production optimization. Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, PETREL) and production analysis tools. Strong understanding of geology, geophysics, and fluid mechanics relevant to the oil and gas industry. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Willingness to work on-site and potentially in challenging field conditions. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and best practices. PE (Professional Engineer) license is highly desirable.
