The role involves providing technical support on projects, performing evaluations for piping systems, and preparing calculations and specifications under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepares simple calculations
- Independently prepares simple system/structural designs
- Gathers data for specifications and prepares simple specifications under supervision
- Gathers data and prepares simple bid tabulations
- Gathers data for reports/studies
- Communicates technical information and results in a clear and concise manner that is usable by other project team members and supervisors
- Gains familiarity with and applies the accepted standards and processes to assigned project tasks
- Completes assignments within allocated time frames
- Develops personal capabilities to the fullest on assigned projects, in order to grow professionally
Skills
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering, from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program, with an emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis
- 1 or more years of engineering experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passed F.E. exam
- Familiarity with AutoPIPE or PIPESTRESS software
