Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Principal Investigator MD or PhD Biostatistician to lead a continuing 5-year epidemiological research initiative for a large-scale public health registry program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive impactful projects that leverage advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and cloud computing to solve complex biological and clinical challenges.
Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee large-scale biostatistical adverse healthcare effects post-toxin exposure, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific excellence.
• Develop and implement sophisticated statistical models using Python, R, SAS, C++, and SQL for analyzing complex datasets from clinical trials, genomics, and molecular biology studies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including bioinformaticians, epidemiologists, and data scientists to gather data and interpret results.
• Utilize cloud computing platforms such as AWS to manage big data workflows, perform data mining, and deploy machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards such as CDISC (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium) for data formatting and reporting.
• Drive innovation by integrating AI techniques like deep learning into research pipelines for enhanced data visualization and insights.
• Mentor junior researchers and promote best practices in data analysis skills, scripting, and statistical analysis across projects.
Requirements
• MD or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field with extensive research experience.
• Proven PI expertise as evidenced by previous peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and experience leading longitudinal prospective cohort or health surveillance studies
• U.S. (only) University faculty appointment as well as established academic credentials
• Current NIH biosketch, letter of support, review and sign-off on scientific sections
• Named key personnel commitment for five-year period
• Multiple conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications each year
• Federal grant management and reporting experience
• Proven expertise in cloud computing environments, particularly AWS/Azure services for data storage, processing, and analysis helpful
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, SAS, C++, SQL, and scripting languages used in bioinformatics workflows helpful
• Deep understanding of toxin exposure outcomes and epidemiology.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks including AI algorithms for predictive modeling and data mining applications.
• Familiarity with databases management systems and data visualization tools to communicate complex findings effectively.
• Knowledge of CDISC standards for clinical trial data management is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with a passion for innovative research in biostatistics and quantum engineering applications in health sciences. Pay: $92,615.63 - $150,537.11 per year
