Project Manager 1 (PROJMGT1) Job Code PMPJMG10 Job Family Project and Program Management FLSA Status Exempt Job Description Summary and Scope The Project Manager I facilitate projects from original concept through final implementation. The Project Manager I will work in collaboration with project stakeholders within the assigned business unit to define project scope, goals, and deliverables working towards business needs. Develops detailed work plans, resource plans, project estimates and status reports as needed based upon the size, scope and expected resource utilization of each project. Essential Functions • Coordinates, plans, and evaluates projects using accepted project management methodologies. • Coordinates project activities with other state agencies, governmental jurisdictions, or private sector partners and contractors. • Reviews and recommends proposals and bids to management. • Monitors and manages project quality and cost to ensure that project deliverables are acceptable, fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications, and are completed within budget. • Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid them. • Communicates project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members. • Compiles and distributes project information, project status reports, and project budget expenditures. • May initiate projects, obtain authorization and commitment, and demonstrate business need and project feasibility. • May develop criteria for evaluating programs, proposals, and other pertinent information related to project assignments. • May develop project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections. • May assign duties and responsibilities and coordinate the work of project staff. • Clear understanding of the Government Procurement process and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to interpret project requirements and ensure compliance. • Conduct periodic reviews of subcontract processes to ensure deliverables and timelines are met • Performs related work as assigned. • Other duties as assigned. Education Required/Desired Education Level Description Required Bachelor's Degree Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related field. Experience Required/Desired Years Description Required 5+ Experience as an advanced responsibility manager, or similar experience. Required 1+ Project experience, ideally in emergency logistics, base camp ops, field/deployment ops is required. Destire OSHA 30. Desired PMP (or other relevant PMI) certification. Physical Demands Expected Hours of Work The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones. Work Environment This job operates in facility and field environments. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, hand tools, site equipment and vehicles, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally. Travel This position requires up to 50% travel. Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours' notice. Work Authorization • Must be authorized to work in the United States. • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS). • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, occupational health physical and lift test (if applicable), credit check, and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment. • Must possess a valid driver's license. Have/maintain a clean driving record.
