QIAGEN is dedicated to improving science and healthcare through innovative solutions. The Quality Control Technician I is responsible for performing assays on products to ensure quality standards are met and participating in continuous process improvement activities.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform assays and evaluate results for product qualification
- Adhere to quality control work instructions
- Maintain complete, contemporaneous and accurate records of all work performed
- Manage reagents and inventory used for QC testing
- Participate in continuous process improvement activities
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced quality control process
- Must be comfortable working with radioactivity
- Develop, revise and review SOPs, qualification/validation protocols and reports
- Perform additional job duties as assigned
Skills
- Up to 2 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to learn and acquire new molecular biology skills to perform complex assay testing
- Understand the quality control process to meet ISO compliance standards
- Increase ability to troubleshoot assays and procedures
- Provide constructive feedback on QC improvements
- Drive and determination
- Background in Molecular Biology applications
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and other applications
- Positive relationship management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced/change oriented environment
- Self-Starter
- Driven to perform
- Self-directed with minimal management assistance
- Able to organize and prioritize a diverse set of responsibilities to ensure that focus on growth and success of company is achieved
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Biology or Biochemistry
