Position expectations include but are not limited to: prepping breast cancer patient charts prior to MD clinic day for treatment, return, follow up or new patient visits; patient education; triaging patient phone calls, medical advice and medication refills; and MD and homecare referrals. All expectations require teamwork and knowledge of the antineoplastic/immunotherapy drugs used, symptom management, excellent communication/documentation skills, and clinical judgment. You must attend the Hillman Cancer Center Antineoplastic Therapy & Immunotherapy Course and Foundation to Practice Series if not already completed or the equivalent. Requirements Minimum six months previous nursing experience required. , 1 year of experienced HIGHLY preferred. , Previous Oncology experience HIGHLY preferred. , BSN preferred. , Registered Nurse (RN) current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. , UPMC approved national certification preferred. , Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required based on AHA standards. Nice-to-haves Experience in a Magnet-designated hospital. , Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN).
