[Remote] Experienced Consultant – R&D & Innovation Funding (Financial Consultant)

The Experienced Financial Consultant will serve as a key advisor to U.S. clients, focusing on R&D tax incentives and guiding them through the funding process from assessment to claim submission. Responsibilities - Evaluate client eligibility for innovation funding programs, focusing on R&D tax incentives, and provide strategic financial guidance - Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the R&D credit study process, ensuring they feel supported and informed - Prepare, review, and submit financial claims with precision, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements - Analyze client financials to uncover opportunities for maximizing incentives, optimizing cash flow, and improving financial outcomes - Engage with tax authorities to defend or clarify claims when needed - Participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences to share insights and professional perspectives on new government funding initiatives - Identify potential clients and contribute to presentations or pitch meetings to grow Leyton’s client base - Stay up-to-date with changes to U.S. tax legislation, programs, tax laws, and incentive regulations, and communicate relevant updates to clients - Monitor generated and collected invoices, and follow up with clients to ensure timely payment - Work closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and document best practices to strengthen Leyton’s advisory services Skills - 1–3 years of experience in R&D tax incentive consulting or financial consulting related to innovation funding - Strong understanding of accounting, finance, or business operations; legal experience is not required - Excellent communication, client management, and analytical skills - Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously - Client-focused mindset with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business - Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA, or similar) are a plus but not mandatory Benefits - Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus structure. - 8 days (144 hours) of accrued PTO per year - 5 days (40 hours) of accrued sick leave - 401(k) with employer matching. - Medical, dental, vision, prescription, and paramedical coverage. - Healthcare FSA and HRA - Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave (compliant with state and local law) - Complimentary time off in the summer and at Christmas - Summer Fridays (half days in July and August) - Fun quarterly team events and a supportive, inclusive workplace environment - Volunteer and community engagement opportunities - Work From Anywhere (WFA): up to one month per year - Work From Any Leyton Office: up to two weeks per year, subject to approval Company Overview - We are an international consulting firm that helps businesses leverage financial incentives to accelerate their growth.
