They are seeking a Finance Associate to support the month-end financial close process, assist with tax filings, and collaborate with internal teams to enhance company culture.
Responsibilities
- Execute the month-end financial close and financial reporting process
- Perform the month-end financial close procedures for GridSME and GridSecurity by following the SOP work instruction documents and learning from the provided training. Always looking for opportunities to improve the month-end close process, financial documentation, and reporting
- Oversee the monthly bank account and credit card account reconciliation process with our outside bookkeeper and AP Specialist
- Lead the monthly revenue recognition and revenue completeness review processes, create and manage the associated revenue workpapers, and interface/collaborate with the Practice Leads and project managers to collect input data
- Calculate Independent Consultant (IndCon) payments and oversee the distribution of those calculations to the IndCons
- Create the monthly GridSME-GridSecurity Shared Services invoice and account for all intercompany transactions
- Calculate, report, distribute, and process GridSME and GridSecurity's Profit-Sharing Bonus Program calculations
- Complete month-end procedures and present draft financial statements and analysis to the Director of Finance by BD5 for further review and analysis
- Assist with recurring state, federal, and international tax record-keeping, compliance, and reporting
- Work closely with procurement and business development team members, as well as outside vendors, to ensure compliance with sales tax requirements
- Assist with ad-hoc projects related to business and/or project financials
- Maintain a GridSME and GridSecurity chart of accounts to assist your department’s staff in accurately recording financial statement transactions

Skills
- Strong financial accounting and month-end close expertise, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems, including building and maintaining workpapers and reports
- Knowledge of tax compliance and regulatory requirements, including sales tax considerations
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, especially when presenting financial information
- Adaptability and willingness to take on new responsibilities in a dynamic, growing organization
- Proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and contribute to strategic initiatives
