Job Summary: The Patient Accounts Representative will be responsible for supporting the reduction of Accounts Receivables by performing a variety of duties, including assisting patients with their bills or other financial aspects of their care, responding to correspondence, billing and re-billing, addressing denial issues, and handling credits and trend monitoring. Essential Functions: Take actions to maximize collection of balances due or account resolution from all sources, meeting Quality and Productivity expectations. Facilitate account resolution by accurately identifying, following up on, or correcting billing errors, lower than expected reimbursement, or denials for correction and submission or resubmission to patients and/or insurance carriers. Timely identify, research, and resolve any issues that may cause delays in payment or account resolution, and identify opportunities to improve collections and follow-up activities. Collaborate with teams, peers, and revenue cycle departments to achieve shared goals and objectives. Job Requirements: High School diploma required. 1-2 years of experience in healthcare insurance billing or account follow-up. Prior experience with Medicaid and Charity Care. Strong knowledge of Patient Accounting systems. Ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
