They are seeking a Senior IIoT Specialist to lead global industrial automation initiatives and implement scalable solutions across their data center portfolio, focusing on Industry 4.0 technologies and digital transformation.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, operations, and sustainability to develop, implement, and optimize industrial automation designs and standards across Vantage’s global data center product line.
• Build relationships with regional peers and internal customers to understand their needs, discover opportunities, develop solutions, solicit feedback, capture lessons learned, and facilitate the transfer of knowledge globally.
• Provide industrial IoT expertise and guidance across all regions and organizational levels.
• Develop and maintain automation standards such as telemetry requirements, IIoT device specifications, MQTT broker specifications, pub/sub architectures, UNS specifications, etc.
• Create secure, robust, scalable, and cost-effective telemetry solutions that meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Lead the development of systems that optimize data integrity, availability, and throughput to enable advanced technologies such as machine learning, AI operators, and digital twins.
• Contribute to QA/QC standardization to enhance quality product turnover.
• Partner with regional teams to take new technologies and designs from concept to first-of-kind deployment.
• Craft business cases for research and development opportunities including cost, schedule, performance, and testing requirements.
• Provide leadership and training to team members, contractors, and consultants.
Skills
• Deep understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies and concepts such as MQTT, OPC-UA, real-time telemetry, unified namespaces, IIoT devices, virtualization, Inductive Automation Ignition, etc.
• Knowledge of industry standards, including ISA-95, the Purdue model, and ISA/IEC 62443.
• Experience authoring automation design standards, specifications, and requirements.
• Knowledge of operational technology (OT) network topologies and protocols, such as device level ring (DLR) and resilient ethernet protocol (REP).
• Experience with big data telemetry, analytics, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Experience with IIoT databases (ex. SQL, NoSQL, time-series) and scripting languages (ex. Python, JavaScript)
• Experience selecting, managing, and collaborating with external vendors, contractors, and consultants.
• 5+ years of industrial automation experience within mission critical environments required.
• Travel is expected to be 15% but may increase over time as the business evolves.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent is desirable but not required.
