[Remote] Traveling Belt Technician

The Traveling Belt Technician will fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belts both in the shop and at customer sites, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities - Fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and conveyor systems - Travel to customer sites for field installations (from a few hours to multi-week projects) - Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belting - Conduct pre- and post-installation calls with sales reps and customers - Maintain a clean, organized work area and service vehicle - Receive, verify, and manage incoming parts and supplies - Perform all work safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards - Identify and report defective equipment, materials, or unsafe conditions - Complete service documentation and update internal systems - Communicate professionally with customers to resolve issues and uncover future service opportunities - Evaluate customer inventory and recommend product or process improvements - Participate in ride-alongs with sales reps to support service growth - Track appointments, installations, and follow-ups - Share customer feedback with sales and regional leadership - Always represent Belt Power with professionalism and pride - Wear required PPE and follow all safety protocols - Perform other duties as assigned Skills - Minimum 1 year of experience in field service, maintenance, or mechanical work - Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to read basic mechanical drawings - Skilled with tape measures and precise measurements - Basic math and computer skills - OSHA 10 Certification and Forklift License (required) - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - Ability to operate large pickup trucks or vans - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and in confined spaces - Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel overnight as needed - High school diploma or equivalent - Must pass a drug screen and background check - Previous belt maintenance or belt technician experience - Strong communication and customer service skills - Highly organized with strong attention to detail - Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn Company Overview - Belt Power helps you keep your mission-critical conveyors moving materials and products in high-volume production, packaging, pick/pack/ship, and distribution facilities.
