• Position: Research Analyst IV
• Location: Remote with occasional onsite meetings at FDA office in 1 Iberville Drive, Dauphin Island, AL, 36528
• Position Type: Contract
• Work Authorization: USC
• Clearance: Secret

Education:

Master s degree in pharmacy or related field (e.g., biological science, microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences) (6+ years experience)

Experience

• Analyse food and environmental samples for extraction and detection enteric pathogens.
• Proficient understanding of or experience using real-time PCR instrumentation.
• Experience using Sanger sequencing and next generation sequencing platforms.
• Ability to utilize aseptic techniques when performing molecular based methods.
• Experience with metagenomics or next-generation sequencing is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• In general, work complexity and responsibility will be greater at higher levels.
• Participates in research and development activities.
• Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data.
• Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.
• Laboratory analyses to develop, optimize, and/or validate methods for the identification of pathogens in seafood.
• Data analysis and drafting project reports describing progress which documents and summarizes the results of work completed throughout the entirety of the applicable task order year
