About project
We are partnering with HomeLend, a US-based FinTech platform that streamlines mortgage and financial workflows. The platform enables seamless interactions between stakeholders, ensuring compliance, transparency, and efficiency across the lending process. You will join a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and business experts working on scalable backend solutions, financial data integrations, and operational workflows.
Required skills and experience:
3+ years of experience in backend development with Python and Django
Strong expertise in designing and delivering production-grade APIs
Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, migrations, optimization)
Hands-on experience with ETL processes and external system integrations
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design principles
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Ability to work independently and mentor other developers
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly learn complex business domains
Nice to have:
Experience in the financial services domain
Familiarity with data formats and integrations (XML, JSON, modern APIs)
Background in consultancy or client services with direct stakeholder interaction
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and performance tuning in production environments
Understanding of security best practices in backend systems and data handling
Responsibilities:
Lead technical delivery by collaborating with product managers and stakeholders, turning business goals into backend solutions
Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python/Django
Architect and maintain PostgreSQL data models, including schema design and migrations
Build and optimize ETL workflows to support financial operations
Ensure data quality and compliance standards are met
Participate in sprint ceremonies, architectural planning, and technical discussions
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations
Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
