Founded in 2018 on the Southern California coast, Slunks is an athletic lifestyle brand
built around movement, community, and good vibes. Born from beach volleyball
culture, we create performance apparel made from recycled materials that lets athletes
tell their stories on and off the court. We believe in working hard, living fully, and
contributing to something bigger than ourselves.
The Role
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager & Content Creator to lead social content
and community engagement across TikTok and Instagram from planning through
execution. This is a highly collaborative, in-person role working closely with our
graphic designers, marketing team, athletes, and creators.
This role requires someone who is both creative and highly organized, but also deeply
community-driven. Engaging with our audience—responding to comments and DMs,
amplifying customer content, and representing the Slunks voice authentically—is a
core driver of our growth.
Slunks is in a major expansion phase, including the relocation of our office from Santa
Ana to a significantly expanded facility in Anaheim, along with multiple major events
and milestones. This role will help document that growth and strengthen our
connection with the Slunks community as we scale.
Platforms You’ll Own
● Instagram (Reels, Stories, feed, DMs, comments)
● TikTok (primary growth channel)
What You’ll Do
Social Strategy, Planning & Execution
● Own social media planning for scheduled drops, campaigns, and events
● Build and manage a forward-looking content calendar
● Plan content several weeks in advance to support marketing timelines
● Coordinate closely with graphic designers and the marketing team
Content Creation
● Own content from concept → capture → edit → publish
● Create high-quality photo and video content
● Capture:
○ Product drops and launches
○ Events and brand activations
○ Facility expansion and behind-the-scenes growth moments
○ Athlete and creator collaborations
Community Engagement (Core Responsibility)
● Actively monitor and engage with:
○ Comments, DMs, Story mentions and tags
● Repost and amplify high-quality user-generated content
● Celebrate customer wins and athlete moments
● Communicate in the Slunks brand voice—authentic, positive, and
community-first
● Build genuine relationships with customers and fans through consistent
interaction
Platform Leadership
● Lead TikTok strategy and execution:
○ Short-form video ideation
○ Consistent posting cadence
○ Strong understanding of platform algorithms & trends
● Execute Instagram content aligned with brand goals
Community Growth & Campaigns
● Develop and execute initiatives that drive engagement:
○ Giveaways, Challenges, Community led campaigns
Analytics & Optimization
● Track performance across platforms
● Report on growth, engagement, and content performance
● Use insights to refine content and engagement strategy
Creator & Athlete Management
● Identify creators and athletes aligned with Slunks
● Lead outreach and manage collaborations
● Track deliverables, timelines, and usage rights
What We’re Looking For
● 2+ years of hands-on social media and content creation experience, or
equivalent portfolio-driven experience
● Proven ability to own content end-to-end from concept → capture → edit →
publish
● Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram, including short-form video
trends and platform best practices
● Ability to capture high-definition photo and video content in real-world,
fast-paced environments
● Strong understanding of lighting, framing, composition, and audio capture
● Comfortable shooting on mirrorless/DSLR cameras as well as mobile devices
when speed is required
● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including: Premiere Pro (video editing),
After Effects (light motion graphics preferred), Photoshop and/or Lightroom
(photo editing and color correction)
● Ability to deliver polished, on-brand content optimized for short-form
platforms
● Highly organized with excellent planning, prep, and deadline management
skills
● Comfortable working cross-functionally with graphic designers and marketing
teams
● Strong grasp of brand voice and the ability to engage authentically with the
Slunks community
● Self-starter with strong communication skills and attention to detail
● Passion for athletics, the outdoors, and lifestyle brands
● Willingness to attend events, shoots, and brand activations

Pay: $47,647.02 - $57,381.35 per year
