Your Role: The Business Relationship and Product Management director serves as a strategic colleague between IT and business units, ensuring that technology solutions align with organizational goals and deliver maximum value. This role combines relationship management, product lifecycle ownership, and strategic planning to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The individual is responsible for fostering collaboration between IT, business partners, and product development teams while ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, customer-focused products and services. Your work: Strategic Business Partnership: - Act as the main liaison between business units and IT, understanding business needs and translating them into actionable technology initiatives. - Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, goals, and challenges to align IT priorities effectively. - Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, ensuring continuous alignment and satisfaction. Product Management: - Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for key products and services, ensuring alignment with business objectives. - Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to deployment, maintenance, and retirement. - Lead multi-functional teams to prioritize product features and enhancements based on business value and customer needs. - Conduct market and user research to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation. Support Portfolio and Demand Management: - Support portfolio of IT projects and products, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and deliverables meet business priorities. - Establish processes for collecting, evaluating, and prioritizing business requirements and IT demands. - Monitor and report on the performance and value delivery of IT investments and products. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: - Facilitate collaboration between IT teams, product managers, and business collaborators to drive project success. - Act as a trusted advisor, communicating effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure transparency and shared understanding. - Provide regular updates on product roadmaps, project progress, and outcomes to senior leadership. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: - Identify and champion opportunities to use emerging technologies and industry trends to address business challenges. - Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing feedback loops and performance metrics for products and processes. - Collaborate with IT teams to implement agile methodologies and DevOps practices to enhance delivery efficiency and quality. Leadership & Culture Stewardship - Creates a collaborative, inclusive, and psychologically safe environment, demonstrating authenticity and fostering trust to inspire and empower team members and colleagues - Actively shapes our company culture through words and actions (e.g., sponsoring an employee resource group, mentoring employees, volunteering, joining cross-functional committee/team, encouraging team member involvement in these activities) - Models our Core Beliefs and champions our cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: interviewing candidates, building relationships with team members, etc.) - Delivers our strategy through an enterprise lens, staying informed of key enterprise initiatives, industry trends, and business results - Demonstrates a company ownership mentality, thinking beyond the boundaries of their own area - Travels as needed for the role, including enterprise meetings, divisional / team meetings, representing the company at industry events, and other in-person meetings - Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc Required Experience, Education and Skills - Bachelor of Science or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field - 10 years Product Management Commercial and/or Personal Lines insurance experience - Solid technical background with a deep understanding of product development processes - Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment - Experience with data analysis and visualization tools - Proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello) - Proven ability to lead others directly or indirectly, as demonstrated through 5+ years of leading teams, enterprise-wide programs, or large cross-functional programs and at least 2 of those years directly managing others.
