Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Student Accounts Coordinator to join our team. As a Student Accounts Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our student accounts processes. You will work closely with the Student Accounts Manager to monitor, review, and improve business activities, and provide exceptional support to our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed student account analysis and award year reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
- Counsel students on document intake, awarding, disbursement, and withdrawal processes, providing guidance and support to ensure they complete their student financing process in a timely manner.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State, and Institutional Policies governing Title IV student aid programs, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance and accuracy in all aspects of student accounts.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure proper communication to students regarding the University's financial policies related to corporate payment options.
- Advise students on their rights and responsibilities regarding their financial obligations to the University, and provide guidance on re-entry policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with financial policies related to student payment options, and prepare, review, and resolve issues represented on reports, including student account aging and assigned activities.
- Establish and maintain key partnerships with Enrollment Services, Student Services, Accounting, Collections, and Strategic Partnerships to communicate student needs and identify issues for resolution.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure students receive proper support, and establish effective strategies to assist students in resolving outstanding account balances.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- Up to 1 year of relevant work experience may be required.
- Attention to detail and strong mathematical and critical thinking skills are required.
- Must possess outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities accurately in a high-volume environment.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate detailed financial information over the phone.
- Demonstrated customer service experience necessary, with a strong focus on providing exceptional support to students and staff.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Title IV federal regulations a plus.
- Experience with student information systems preferred.
- Higher-education finance-related experience required.
