**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced full-stack data analyst to join our Quality Control Standards and Guidelines team as a data analyst intern. The successful candidate will drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying statistical patterns and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. The data analyst intern will assist in using data to create, present, and make recommendations for groundbreaking ideas and projects, as well as perform basic analysis to alleviate the risk of resistance through process improvements.
**Key Responsibilities**
The key responsibilities of the data analyst intern may include, but are not limited to:
* Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team in optimal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data components.
* Assist in creating and presenting results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
* Assist in exploring ad-hoc requests arising from emerging maintenance issues and provide logical answers to enable Senior Leaders to make business decisions while adjusting existing project responsibilities.
* Present insights, patterns, and potential recommendations by using data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the investigation to ease partner understanding.
* Assist in creating and disseminating specific queries to pull and coordinate data from various sources, laying out the rhythm, and approving the need of the data requirements.
* Identify irregularities in processes through reviews/audits and convey findings to the team.
* Assess the effectiveness of processes and methods by observing for patterns and errors
* Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision
* May perform other work responsibilities as directed by Group Leader.
**Essential Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as data science, statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze large datasets with care and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively listen, understand, and convey thoughts and ideas in writing, verbally, or through presentations to diverse audiences.
* Ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong understanding of data visualization tools and capacities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase.
* Ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning.
* Willingness to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications.
* Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework is preferred.
* Ability to work independently in a team-oriented, help/group-situated climate.
* Ability to focus on responsibilities independently and be a self-motivated individual.
* Past internship experience in a related field is preferred.
* Ability to manage sensitive and confidential data appropriately.
* Ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase.
* Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL.
* Experience with data mining and machine learning techniques.
* Certification in data science or a related field.
* Experience with data governance and compliance.
