Munich Re is a leading insurance and reinsurance company that seeks to hire a Reinsurance Accounting Analyst to join their diverse team. The role involves processing and reporting inter-company and retrocessional insurance/reinsurance business, ensuring compliance with IFRS 17 requirements, and collaborating with various business units.
Responsibilities
- Process assigned inter- company and retrocessional insurance/ reinsurance activity
- Record and clear accounts payable and receivable balances as well as the proper application of cash disbursements and receipts to ensure compliance with IFRS 17 requirements
- Process payment transactions (incoming and outgoing) in accordance with contract terms
- Research and reconcile accounting matters related to statements of account
- Communicate and work closely with other business units across the division and the company as well as affiliated business partners
- Participate in quarter close processes
- Participate as needed on special projects
Skills
- Bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
- Associate or bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics or equivalent experience
- Good interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, relationship building, and teamwork
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and decision-making skills
- Solid math and analytic skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Working knowledge of Excel required
