**Job Summary:**
The Provider Data Entry Specialist is a critical position that demands meticulous attention to detail and efficiency in processing incoming requests to optimize claims adjudication. As a key member of our team, you will receive provider information from external sources for system updates and apply your knowledge and experience to validate the provided information. Accurate data entry and maintenance of provider records in the computer system are essential aspects of this position, emphasizing precision and timeliness. Regular audits of loaded provider records are conducted to ensure both quality and financial accuracy, with documented feedback provided when necessary.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Receive and process provider information from external sources for system updates
* Validate provider information using knowledge and experience to ensure accuracy
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider records in the computer system
* Conduct regular audits of loaded provider records to ensure quality and financial accuracy
* Provide documented feedback when necessary
* Support system/health plan integration efforts
* Train existing staff and new hires on system-related tasks
* Assist in system-related testing activities
**Essential Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent GED
* 1+ years of managed care experience and/or medical office experience with coding or credentialing experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Adherence to Managed Care Organization's policies and confidentiality requirements
* Reliable attendance based on the agreed-upon schedule
* Understanding and compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations
* Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Previous experience in a medical office setting working in provider credentialing or related position
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
* Proficiency in computer software and systems, including data entry and management tools
